A driver card is a personal record of driving and work data for drivers in commercial passenger and freight transport with a digital tachograph equipped with a memory chip. With the corresponding amendment to Regulation (EEC) No. 3821/85 by Regulation (EC) 561/2006 and due to its implementation in Germany by the Driving Personnel Ordinance, additional digital activity records, including driving and rest times, must be carried since May 1, 2006.
